Have you ever wanted to learn how to take better photographs but find yourself intimidated by that new digital camera? Perhaps you own a DSLR (digital) camera and want to become familiar with all the “bells and whistles.” The Younts Center is proud to announce the development of a new “Fundamentals of Photography” training class!
If the above description fits you, then this is what you can expect to learn from this class: Basic camera operation, Camera settings beyond the “Auto” function, Depth of field, Lighting, Flash photography, Using filters, Important composition guidelines plus a class field trip with individual attention and guidance.
About your instructor: Ron Urso (Fph) is a local and regionally renown studio photographer. During his almost 50-year tenure as a professional photographer, Ron won numerous awards for his acute skill behind and in front of the camera lens. He is practiced, skilled and well-versed in all areas of photography including digital and the use of film. The Younts is proud and fortunate to have Ron available and excited to share his experience and expertise with you!

Bring your DSLR or digital camera, and have fun learning from award-winning veteran photographer, Ron Urso. Discover how to “make” a better picture, not just “take” a better picture! Learn some of the skills and tricks of the trade. Enjoy interactive instruction, a session designed to give personal and individual constructive feedback to each student, and a daily field trip around town to practice your new skills. You’ll have some summer fun and leave a better, more skilled photographer! Please bring a bag lunch to enjoy during break each day.
The Younts is happy to be the new home of Sandy Young’s Acting Up Theatre Camp! For one week in June and one week in July, Acting Up Theatre Camp provides a fresh and engaging summer theatre experience for students from second grade through eighth grade including a full production at the end of each week of camp!
"Acting UP" theatre camps returning Summer 2019! Details coming spring of 2019.
Cost: $125 per actor
Includes: $25 non-refundable registration fee, camp materials, snack, and t-shirt.
Classes filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Open to students grades 1- 8.
